A Few Helpful Answers.
From choosing shrimp to planning dinner, the details should feel straightforward.

A few helpful answers before you order, receive your seafood, or start cooking.
Ordering & Availability
What does Makeaux Market offer?
We are beginning with Louisiana shrimp and a longer-term vision for provisions grown, caught, and made in Louisiana. Browse current product listings for what is offered today.
What is the difference between peeled, head-off, and whole shrimp?
Peeled shrimp has its shell removed. Head-off shrimp has its head removed and usually retains the shell. Whole shrimp retains both head and shell. Tail, deveining, size, and frozen-condition details vary; read the exact listing.
What do size counts mean?
A count such as 21–25 refers to the approximate number of shrimp per pound. Lower counts generally indicate larger shrimp. Package weight and size count are different measurements.
Are all products available immediately?
No. Read each listing for availability and any pre-order designation. A pre-order is intended for a future fulfillment window. Confirm timing before planning an event around an order.
Delivery & Order Support
Do you ship nationwide?
Our current focus is Louisiana local delivery. Enter your address at checkout to see available options; do not assume that every Louisiana address is covered.
Is pickup available?
Select pickup only if it is specifically offered for your order. Use the confirmed location and collection instructions rather than traveling to an unconfirmed address.
Can I change my order?
Contact us promptly with your order number. Change options depend on whether preparation or fulfillment has begun. A message or order note does not by itself confirm a change.
What should I do if there is a problem?
Keep the order number, product label, packaging, and photographs that help explain the concern. If you question the safety of seafood, do not eat it. Contact us before returning or shipping perishable products.
In Your Kitchen
How should I store shrimp?
Refrigerate seafood at 40°F or below. Freeze it if you will not use it within two days of purchase. Follow the product label and our storage and handling guide.
Where can I find dinner ideas?
Visit Recipes & Stories for shrimp étouffée, Creole jambalaya, New Orleans BBQ shrimp, Shrimp Creole, shrimp and grits, and shrimp and okra gumbo. Each recipe has ingredients, steps, timing, and copy/print controls.
Do the recipes contain allergens?
All six recipes contain shrimp, a crustacean shellfish. Some also contain wheat, milk, or fish ingredients. Read every recipe’s allergen notes and the labels on the products you actually use.
